The Phoenix is a mythical creature that rose out of the ashes to live again. This little girl was very lucky to be found when she was, or she wouldn’t have risen from the ashes. See the before shots here Some good Samaritans found our little Phoenix in northeastern Indiana. They came back to their car after a walk through the woods and there she was. Phoenix was near death’s door and was suffering from a horrible case of demodectic mange, and severe malnutrition. They rushed her to the nearest animal shelter for care, and the animal shelter promptly called Rescue A Shar-Pei for help. Even with her health declining, she was very nice to all the staff and liked to sleep with the other animals at the shelter. The shelter staff knew she needed more care than they could provide, so arrangements were made to bring her to the clinic in Valparaiso, IN. It was not known if Phoenix would survive, but survive she has!! With a combination of wonderful care from her foster family, and daily medications, Phoenix has shown wonderful progress. Phoenix’foster home is currently nurturing her to a more stable, healthy state. We are sure that when the time is appropriate for Phoenix to go to her forever home, that the family that adopts her will be a very lucky family, as Phoenix will be an incredible family companion.
