Chong and Orbie
Chong is a 2 yr old male Shar-pei. Orbie is a 10 year old Bassett mix. They are both at Save-A-Pet Adoption Center in Grayslake, IL. They were brought there in October of 2008 because the owner was moving. Originally we were told that they did not need to go together. But after watching them together we knew that was not so. Chong wouldn’t go outside the kennels on a walk until Orbie was right behind him. In the kennels Chong will sleep or stand in front of Orbie as to take care of and protect him.

It’s obvious how much these two care for each other and shouldn’t be separated.

They are a fun pair. Orbie just takes his time (he is a senior you know) walking and smelling everything (that bassett in him I guess). Chong is always raring to go and play. Life is fun to be had for him. But, he still always wait for Orbie and makes sure he is right behind him.

They were adopted out to a couple who’s adult children decided, after the fact, that two dogs were too much for their parents and they made them return them. They were in tears when they returned the dogs so you can imagine how tough it was for the dogs. They are, without a question, the “Odd Couple”. But you wont find a pair of dogs that are closer. Orbie can be a grumpy senior at times in the home, so its best to keep their treat and chews separate but in the kennel they share everything.

Please consider making these two a part of your family. If you are interested or have any questions, please contact Dana at animalcaremanager@save-a-pet-il.org. They can also be seen on our website at www.save-a-pet-il.org. They are both neutered and UTD also.
