Dear RASP,

I wanted to give you an update on Yanni. I've had Yanni for almost 2 years now and boy has it been 2 years. When we first brought Yanni home, he was scared of his own shadow and I was not able to hug him or even get to close. After 2 years, Yanni has changed so much. He will let you hold him, hug him, he gives kisses and he sleeps in bed with me every night.

He and my other two dogs which are Chows get along wonderful. We have a few scuffles now and then when Yanni tries to be top dog and my male Chow will not let go of that roll. Yanni has brought so much joy into my house and I can't imagine not having him. Yanni presence in my house has made my male Chow who's name is Chowzar act like he is 2 years old again. He and Yanni can play for hours and when Chowzar gets tried, Grayson will then play with Yanni. Yanni has more energy than any dog I have owned.

I have started to consider rescuing another Shar-Pei and I have no doubt in my mind that the new dog will be as challenging as Yanni but the outcome is so rewarding. When you see your dog start to trust you and everyday he allows you to get a little closer until you are inseparable.

Thank you RASP for letting me adopt Yanni, he has been such a good dog and he fits perfectly into my family. I am sending a couple of pictures of Yanni, so you can see how much he has changed.

I have opened a pet grooming shop and Yanni has become the shop mascot. I have told everyone who is looking for a dog to look into a rescue. I have placed since opening my shop in March, 10 rescue dogs of different breeds. Everyone has asked what type of a pet is a Shar-Pei and all I can say is if you want to add a Shar-Pei to your family you will not be disappointed.

Again thank you for Yanni. All the pictures have only Yanni but one picture is Yanni with his sister Grayson.

Sincerely,

Kristen Clayman formerly Kris Goodman
