Buster Buster is about 5 years old; very loving, and is very enthusiastic about going for walks, etc. He loves companionship, and gets along well with most all dogs. There have been 1-2 dogs out of 50 or so he has not cared for. Not bad. No food aggression, and not too bad on the leash; gentle leader works well. He is just a joy, and if someone appreciates Shar-pei's, I think they will love him to death. His history is very sad! Most recently he was being kept outdoors on a tie-out 24/7 with a horrible ear infection that spread from the inner ear outside to the surface of his skin. It was very advanced. Luckily he did not lose his hearing. The owner was given the choice of surrendering or neglect charges. I had returned Buster to them a year prior when he was a stray in the local park; found playing with the local children. They called the shelter looking for their lost dog and when I returned him (I brought him to my house, he was so beat up and haggard looking; I had to nurse him back to health) I told them they had one chance to treat him better or he was going to be removed. They said the neighbors were shooting BB's at him because he wouldn't stay home. (Wonder why?) They then locked him in the basement to keep him home. Unbelievable! When I checked on him again, he was outside in the summer heat with no shelter, chained.....with the infection. Time for him to go! I never should have let them keep him!
